The 18th edition of the SFGFF will be held online April 16-25, 2021. As the global pandemic still persists, we are very happy to offer the virtual screenings for free, as a gift back to our community that has supported us the last 18 years.

Streaming is available in the United States and Canada (exclusions apply).

  • Head to the virtual Festival by visiting https://sfgff2021.eventive.org/welcome
  • Click on the Film Guide to see our line-up.
  • Click on the specific film you want to watch.
  • You need to “buy” a $0 ticket for each film you want to watch.
  • You’ll be given instructions on creating your Eventive account. Follow those and then you’ll be able to complete getting your FREE ticket.
  • The program will load, and the video will start playing once you choose to play.
  • Please note that you need to be logged in to use your tickets once claimed.

No. All virtual on-demand content will be accessible from April 16-25, 2021. When you “unlock” the film, you will see an indication of how long you have to start watching below the “watch now” button on the film page. After you’ve started watching, the indication will change to show you how much time is remaining in your watch window. We recommend you “unlock” the film at the time you plan to watch for maximum viewing time. Please note that all films will stop being available at 23:45 PDT on April 25, 2021.

Yes. You can stop and start a screening during the week of the festival.

Yes, and we encourage you to do so! All films are eligible for the Astron Audience Awards for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film.
