Opening Night

The Castro Theatre, 429 Castro Street, San Francisco, 94111

Opening Night short film is I am Mackenzie, winner of the SXSW Grand Jury Award. Director Artemis Anastasiadou will be present to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A.

Opening Night feature film is the acclaimed documentary Olympia, winner of the best documentary at the Hunter Mountain Film Festival. Director Harry Mavromichalis will be present to introduce the movie and participate in a Q&A.

The SF Greek Film Festival will present Ms. Olympia Dukakis with the Honorary Astron Award in recognition of her tremendous legacy in cinema and theater. Ms. Dukakis will accept the award via video.

Reception will follow immediately after the screenings in the Castro Theater mezzanine. (Please note there are no elevators to the mezzanine level.)

Two ticket options: $40 with reception/$15 movie only.

Closing Night

Closing Night will begin with a reception in the atrium.

The Spyros P. Skouras Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Kary Antholis.

Screening of short Vourvourou and feature film Smuggling Hendrix with moderator Despina Mouzaki to conduct Q&A.

The 2019 Astron Award winners will be announced.

There is a limited amount parking in the Dolby garage at 9th Street. Taking public transportation or a taxi is strongly encouraged. If taking a taxi, get driving directions to 35 9th Street.
