Inspired by Australian actor-filmmaker Maria Theodorakis’ experiences in Canada in the mid 2000s, Car Lady & Bike Girl exposes the contrasting gap between rich and poor.
Two women from opposite ends of the social spectrum find themselves on a collision course of chemicals, class and cash, and end up swapping more than paint. ‘Car Lady’ is comfortably entrenched in the high life of Toronto but her needs have hit rock bottom. On the other hand, ‘Bike Girl’ appears to be your typical street person.
Could life be any worse on the opposing side of Toronto’s social divide?
